I loved Greek mythology when I was younger, and was lucky enough to study it for A-Level and enjoyed reading all of the wild stories that came with the gods and goddesses. One of my favourites was when Amethystos was traveling to worship at the temple of Artemis. To protect her from the wrath of Dionysus, the god of wine, Artemis transformed the maiden into a pure quartz statue. Realising how cruel he had been, a remorseful Dionysus wept tears of wine over the statue, staining the crystal purple and thus creating the very first amethyst.
I handmade this one off statement ring which features a gorgeous pear cut Brazillian Amethyst which sits in a scallop setting and 3mm band. All made from 925 sterling silver - one of one and ready to ship. Size Q (medium).
